On my ThinkPad (with an entirely different video chipset), I specified the
monitor type as "LCD Flat Panel", or something to that effect -- but I noticed
that this option did not appear in the RedHat installer until version 6.x. When
I tried initially installing RH 5.2, there was no such monitor listing, and I
was unable to get X to work at all, until I upgraded to RH 6.1. Also, IIRC, I
had to specify the monitor type manually, since RH did not autodetect the type I
had. Now, X runs beautifully at 1024 * 768, 16 bpp, on my 14.1 inch display :-)
