I picked up an Orb drive a while back, and haven't had any significant
problems (except a Windows 'feature' where it automatically assigns
secondary slave to D: if there's a disk in the Orb drive when I boot).
2.2Gb storage, 12.2 MB/second transfer, drive is around $200, disks are
$30 each. It works well under Linux, too (not directly supported, but
they include a link to the Linux project that's working on support
for it on their site). It's seen as just another hard drive normally.
