Schools Interoperability Framework

I just saw this link on Slashdot about using XML for sharing data
between applications in schools.  It turns out that one of the two or
three pilot projects is here in Anoka County, in District 11.  The main
web page is hosted by Microsoft, but the project is ostensibly
non-OS-dependent.  Wonder what the odds are that we could add a touch of
Linux to the mix, especially with a local pilot project.
