No, you only had to pay $10 more for the deluxe service versus the select
service. Deluxe is on 24x7 and select drops after 2 hours.

I didn't have any problem at all ordering deluxe. I told them I want it for
UNIX on my home network. No problem. I am not using USWest.net though.

Ask for Megabit Deluxe with the external Cisco 675 router. Call
1-877-665-MEGA. Choose the option to pick a different ISP (if I were you).

VISI.com will offer you a static IP for the router. If you pay another $5,
they will offer you a netblock so that you can route a static IP to your
internal network. This avoids the NAT problems when running a server
(especially things like Quake).
I am still waiting on my line to be activated.
