Maybe that's what USWest was trying to tell me.  But, I didn't mention
anything about hosting.  I just said I wanted to hook up one computer that
happened to be running Linux, and they said that I wasn't normal and
should pay more.

So, monthly expense is $50 - $80 to have a spigot what is your own?

What are you suggesting?  How do you link your own host / domain name to
your computer then?  Do you get set up, see what your address is, and then
manually get that put into a DNS somewhere?

I'm going to go off to RTFM, but would someone be kind enough to say in 25
words or less how you get a link established at a DNS?
