solaris box

I got my hands on a  Sparc Station 1+, can I put linux on it? Because
one person told me i cannot, and one person, who I believe more than the
other, said I can. Is there anywhere I can find parts for the box, like
network adaptors to an RJ45, a video adapter to VGA?  How about HD's, do
they use a special kind? I was told they do, and that this box I have
has a bad HD. Thanks. Is unix a whole new animal?
