(ASCEND) MAX TNT - mixture of old and new modem cards

We did an upgrade of our MAX TNT system, formerly running with a HDLC
card and  two-slot-modem cards. Now we added some of the 1-slot modem
cards. We would like to ask someone to help us understand how ISDN calls
are handled in such a configuration.
Is there a difference how ISDN calls are processed by the HDLC card and
by
the integrated ISDN function of the new modem card?
To which type of card will ISDN calls be routed?
Will the number of useable modem connections become smaller if digital
calls are processed by the 1-slot-modem cards?
Is there anyone out there running this mix?
