(ASCEND) Quick Disconnects on MAX 6248?

I have a max 6248 with 7.0.3 and alot of my customers have been complaining
that they keep getting disconnected several times before they can stay
online for any good length of time.

Does this sound like a problem with the config in the max or with their
computers?  I don't think that it is with their computers because I just
re-installed win98se on my new computer and have experienced the same thing.

Any ideas would be great!
