(ASCEND) Protection Violation dump when accessing Diag on Max6000
I've seen this before and figured I didn't have time to look into it,
but today I saw
Protection violation: ind = 00010000 addrType = 00001000 at 00000008
b03bf4b8 b01e7710 b01e3180 b01e3ab4 b01922d8
come pouring out of my diag when I was trying to fix my dead radius.
I'm running multiple maxes authenticating to Ascend's NavisRadius on
NT, they in turn pass most auth requests to the ACE/SDI server via the
DEFAULT profile. When SDI died today, both primary and secondary radius
keeled over. When I restarted them they kept keeling over till I had my
partner restart the ACE server.
My question is, if I see a ton of these when the primary auth path is
dead,(SDI) what can I tell from one or two errors? It sounds obvious
that I should kiss my ass goodbye, cause the box is going to kick
it....but I'm looking for a definition of this protection violation,
and all I've heard is that it may be due to outbound dialers
diconnecting incorrectly...(I can't buy that)
Please let me know if anyone knows what the specifics are on this error.
