Look at the network with tcpdump or whatever and see what goes on at those
intervals.

Interesting problems may also be the result of power fluctuations (don't laugh
- even behind an UPS you may see strange effects if a neighbour consumer
suddenly requires 150% current ;) Watch for spikes on the network cable.

Even though I admit this is pretty obscure.
