(ASCEND) E1 question on TNT vs. MAX 4000

Hi,

I have a small, but nasty problem:

when our Telco company reboots their switch
(which happens once in a while) our 3 MAX 4000s
claim that the E1 interface is on alarm, but
resume normal operation as soon as the telco 
line is back.

The TNT behaves quite differently: The E1 interface 
goes down and does not seem to listen any more to 
anything that might come from the other side.
So I have to bring it up again manually, which
of course is not the way it's supposed to be.
