RE: (ASCEND) How to save a route
The NT box does have the IP of the pipeline set as its gateway. If for instance the pipeline
is 208.5.98.173 and the NT is 208.5.98.174, then whenever the max is rebooted, I have to do
iproute add 208.5.98.174/32 208.5.98.173 to the max in order for it to know where to send any
208.5.98.174 traffic.....which requires that the pipeline(208.5.98.173) be connected for me to be
able to add the route. I just want to be able to save this hand entered route between boots, if possible.
If not, then we'll give the pipeline a 2nd dummy IP address, change the NT proxy to be an IP in the dummy
class c, and reconfigure TCP/IP on every machine on their network...........but I'd rather be able to save
the route I described above if at all possible

you don't need to set a new route every time you dial. you should set the IP
of the pipeline to be the default gateway of the NT box.
