RE: (ASCEND) K56 Modem upgrades

I think the point in all this being missed. The MAX with the underrated
power supply was leased by my company, during one of those MAX-Up programs
Ascend runs every once in a while. This MAX came with 6 eight port modem
cards stock, out of the box. This is how Ascend configured it, and "sold"
it. Although I realize that this MAX was a reconfigured piece of equipment,
and that does not bother me. We assumed that Ascend would back their own
equipment. In a way they have, if we send this MAX back to Ascend, they
will fix it. But as an ISP, it forces us to have a "spare" MAX on hand, to
accommodate the down time of the repair. So I guess you can say, that is
good business sense on the Ascend side. Since we will need to purchase a
spare, just in case. But as a ISP, in a competive market, the idea is to
keep cost down. So it makes me wonder, if Ascend was the right choice for us?
