And I'm saying your wrong - zero-subnet has been valid for at least 4 years,
which is when I really got into things. They are being assigned to
customers officially, and have been for a long while. And all modern
networking equipment handles them. On Cisco you may need to enable it with
'ip subnet-zero' (hope I recalled that right). All other gear I've worked
with just uses it.
The first and last subnet being obsolete died years and years ago, unless
you are running truly ancient gear - or broken gear.
