That sounds reasonable. The Max just goes to the hub box of the LAN,
so I'm not sure if there is much I can do on the LAN side. What settings
in the Max are used for timing control?

But now that I think about it, wouldn't mismatched timing still be in
effect when PPTP is turned off? Yet CRC's go away when I don't use PPTP.
Or, are there separate timing settings for PPTP?
