(ASCEND) looking for: 'always' connected home LANs
While most people on this list seem to be managing ISP or corporate nets
most of the time, I'm sure that some of you Pipeline owners, like me,
probably maintain home networks, with PCs placed in various places
throughout the home, providing service to family members as they do their
day-to-day tasks.
If you have a home net with at least 3 PCs, and maintain (at least the
illusion of) continuous connectivity to the Internet, using the net for
normal family and personal uses (not just Home Office stuff), please drop
me a note. If there's enough interest, it might be fun starting a group to
discuss issues that come up in such environments.
For example, what's the family equivalent of an AUP? Or what kind of
firewall works best for the home?
Please don't reply to the ascend-users list; I suspect this is not of
interest to most of the folks on it, and I'd like to impact the list as
little as possible.
