Re: (ASCEND) NT Dials P75 on Bootup

Thank you to all who responded. I tried many things, but the only thing
I could get to work was Michiel's suggestion (thank you Michiel).

I did find out that lmhosts had no affect; I tried several modification
to the host file without luck, and so on. I did learn that I could
disable my server and computer browser service without any problems
since I have no intention of allowing any sharing on my stand alone
workstation.

I installed Michiel's filters and enabled them in the Ethernet --
Connections -- profile -- session -- call filter = 1 and now no more
dialing on reboot. Wow!

Michiel, please review my understanding of these filters below:

I have my IP Call input filters set to Valid=Yes; Generic; Forward=No
with everything set to zeros and equal. I assume this means do not
forward any input call requests?

:>Out filter 01...Valid=Yes

:>Out filter 01...Ip...Dst Port Cmp=Eql <-- Equal
:>Out filter 01...Ip...Dst Port #=53 <-- dns

This filter says to forward the request if the source is NOT a UDP
nbname request to a destination dns port. This would forward any dns
requests except a UDP nbname request - correct?

:>Out filter 02...Valid=Yes
:>Out filter 02...Type=IP
:>Out filter 02...Ip...Forward=Yes
:>Out filter 02...Ip...Protocol=6 <-- TCP

This filter says to forward all TCP requests regardless of their
destination port. Correct?

Any other calls do not get forwarded.

Thank you again for very useful information.
