Mike,
We don't use mrtg and have had a resetting Max 6000 for nearly 1 year.
Lucent/Ascend took it back under warranty once and sent it back as repaired
with no explanation of what they did. I put it back on line and it still
reboots about once a day. The FAT number is '100' which is the same as a
power off cycle. I am guessing that they have a bunch of flakey power
supplies in the field but are just too stupid to admit it.
Their tech support rots. It takes weeks to get return calls and they only
try you once and then give up (as if you have don't have a business to run
and other fires to put out).
After about 5 more pleading phone calls I finally received an answer and
case number that they are sending a replacement. That was over 1 week ago
and I have not seen or heard anything. Still no RMA either.
I would have given up months ago and switched but I have another Max 6k
which runs like a top so I know that I just have one of the many 'lemons'
and need it replaced. Also, it appears that Lucent is up to the monopoly
building like their former AT&T self and there won't be much choice.
Good luck and I hope that you have fixed your reboot problem.
