Hi Mike!
As far as I can remember you have to short out jumper P9. But there is
more than meets the eye. For the following procedure you need two
releases of the Pipe-50 firmware which are quite distant in version
number. Connect to your Pipe via serial port using minicom or something
similiar (e.g. Windows Hyperterminal) with a rate of 57600 bps. Set your
Pipe to receive files (you have to enter "df" on the debug line). A
sequence of "CK" states the Pipe to be ready. Then upload the old
release first (ZMODEM), reset the Pipe (turn off/turn on power), upload
the new release (ZMODEM), turn off again, remove the jumper and have
fun. Ah, one last thing, your configuration is certainly gone for good.
BEWARE! Ascend does not recommend this approach and does not guarantee
that your Pipe will still be functioning after these extreme measures
...
