(ASCEND) DPNSS & CRC4

We've got a MAX4000 connected to a DPNSS switch card.  For some reason
the MAX is generating CRC4 which, as far as I know, it shouldn't do for
DPNSS.  We've tried numerous revisions of firmware, but they all seem
to do the same.

Has anyone else seen this or have a fix for it ?
