(ASCEND) upgraded to 6.1.7 - trouble with maxstatus

Hi there!

I am not subscribed to this list so I apologize in advance if this subject
has been spoken about already. 

I would truly appreciate any information available, however.

We recently upgraded all of our Maxen(/es?) to version 6.1.7 from 5.x in
order to take advantage of the v.90 protocol.

We used to use maxstatus for the 'mwho' program/script which would allow
us to see who was online on the maxen.

When we upgraded, however, the script broke.  I got the new ascend.mib but
haven't been able to get it to work properly with maxstatus.  This is the
error I get:

ValueError: invalid literal for atoi(): Invalid SNMP OID

Can anyone help me get this running again?
