It would depend upon the level of education of your users and the apps
you want them to use. It looks like Intragy DeskDial gives an easy-to-use
interface to make it seem like the modem is local to the desktop.
If you think that the user have the ability to use the Hayes AT command
and they just need a dumb terminal or vt100 interface, and your MAX4000
has the MAX Dial option, then you can use the TermServ Immediate Modem
feature with a Windows telnet client.
