(ASCEND) LAN security errors, PAP auth OK
Hi,
recently we received quite a number of complaints from customers
about rejected logins. I was told that some users would need
two or three dial attempts to login successfully (with identical
settings in the client software).
These attempts are generating LAN security errors in the syslog,
even though PAP authentication is OK. It happens with Max4000's
and Max2000's running versions from 5.0Ap48 to 6.X.X.
Here's a sample syslog entry.
May 25 23:25:13 flensburg11-eth0-0 ASCEND: slot 3 port 7, LAN
security error, Nj.heldt [MBID 436; ->90394]
May 25 23:25:15 flensburg11-eth0-0 ASCEND: call 57 CL 0K u=Nj.heldt c=101
p=67 s=33600 r=31200 h=194.64.165.24
Any ideas what can lead to cause code 101 (Invalid incoming user)?
I'll do more debugging later today (pppif), but thought I'd
ask if anyone has any tips/hints or seen something similar.
Maybe the people who ran some statistics on cause codes 185/11
can check to see how common 101 is (Jason Nealis?).
