5A is not the Cause. The above log doesn't contain causes at all. The
<xx> are just the message types, and 0x5A aka 90 (btw) is indeed "RELEASE
COMPLETE".

Another guess: Maybe the sequence was just torn in logging, not on the
wire indeed ? And even if it happened that way, it may have succeeded
if the switch sent the RELEASE before it received the Maxs REL COM.
I don't, however, remember of Q.931 allowing "overlap release" ;)
