Funny - You should Ask :-) I had all 4 Fan's go out (and a Power Supply)
in my 4004. The Elina's in the original quote below from Chris Epler (very
helpful) seem to fit the Bill. I had originally ordered the larger PS Fan
(TA300) from Digi-key, but they didn't have the smaller fans in stock... I
am presently ordering the smaller ones from Heiland as the Elina Type,
specs are pretty close, size exact to the PanaFlow fans used currently in
the 4004, which seem about *impossible* to locate. I also have a source
for the +5, -5, +12, -12Vdc Power Supply, which was also severely affected
by "1" of the Panaflow Fans Shorting out and smoking up the place (which in
the end killed all the fans on the 24Vdc as well as affecting the power
supply). Could have perhaps originally been the PS that killed em all, I'd
check that it doesn't jump up to 50V unregulated on first power up!! A
good replacement PS comes up solid 23.75Vdc and stays there!

---- Quoted Resources from Chris Epler --------

2 smaller fans in the Max

Manufacturer: Elina Fan
Model Number: KDB240615MB

(Note Chris's Original didn't have "B" at the end of the Model#, the Sleeve
type are being totally eliminated, so you do need to designate the "MB" to
get bearing type, which is suggested as noted)

Dimensions: Depth: 1.5 cm Length: 6 cm Width: 6 cm
Power: 24 VDC 80mA

1 Large fan inthe Max

Manufacturer: Nidec Beta V
Model Number: TA 300 DL

Dimensions: Depth: 2.5 cm Length: 8 cm Width: 8 cm

We needed to replace the smaller fans and ordered them thru Heiland
Electronics. They are very elusive and nobody seems to stock these suckers.
I called about 12 different distributers. I am going to use Elina Part
number: KDB230615MB which may be the same as mentioned above or it may be a
BALL BEARING version. DO NOT USE SLEEVE BEARING FANS. You'll regret it.
The cost of the fans was $9.00 ea with a min Qty of 8. Hi-Tek called back
AFTER I had ordered them and said they could have sold them for $8 ea so you
may try there first, but they took too long to get back to me. The local
electronics store wanted $15 ea... *smirk*

Good luck to you all and may your MAXen not go up in flames.

(My Own Notes after contacting Chris Myself... HTML Reference to finding a
distributor for the Elina fans in your area is:)

Evidently Indek is the US Rep for the Fans....

Digi-Key had the Fans (PanaFlow) as well, but currently on a 16-20 week
backorder (perhaps Ascend took all local supplies! and won't sell to you as
an end customer - I found that actually to be quite unusual.

Digi-Key does have the TA300's
