I have read the guide.  My problem is that I can put a call on hold, I can 
then call out to another number, but cannot connect the two calls.

Also, I seem to have call waiting, but likewise flash hook, but still do 
not get connected to the other line.

Have you tried following the instructions on:

http://www.ascend.com/796.html     or pp A5-A7 of the User Guide?

if so, what is still not working?
