(ASCEND) 10-digit dialing, and a random sinking of the Max
I'm hoping this won't be an issue, but... Here in Denver we are switching
to mandatory 10-digit dialing (area code must be dialed with all phone
numbers). I'm wondering if the Max 2000/4000 using PRI has any 'issues'
dealing with such a situation (I know Windows 95 sure hates it!), and if
it does have problems, which software version I must use to resolve it. I
am similarly concerned for the Pipeline 50, which I also have a couple of.
Also, yesterday I experienced a weird problem with 5.0Ap36 on the Max 2000
(using PRI). It basically quit answering calls. Everyone got the fast
busy after a long wait. I have no idea why, I rebooted and it got better.
Earlier that same day the PPP connection over the serial WAN link went
down for no apparent reason, and then it came back up ~10 minutes later.
I don't know why, nor does the administrator on the other end. Therefore
it is hard to know whether the problems are related.
