IBM was a big help- they told her to call the USR x2 test line and that "if it connects, it's your provider's problem". Thanks a LOT, IBM.... Anyway- anybody know anything I can try as far as extra init strings? The modem never syncs; it just starts "boop"ing and goes to a high-pitched screech, shortly after that, the MAX terminates.
