UPDATE and CORRECTION:
Having reviewed this with engineers who "really know what they're doing ;)",
it turns out that I'd misinterpreted the meaning of "slot". It actually
refers to the card-slot in which the SPYDER resides, not a slot within
the spyder. THEREFORE, I would expect that the HDLC card should have
failed to come up....is there an HDLC-DATA card in slot 6, and does it
show up as UNAVAILABLE ?
