RE: (ASCEND) SAM Firewall Question - Blocking IP Addresses
>From the Secure Access Manager Helpfile:
The Restricted Site option configures the firewall to block traffic to/from
the sites listed in the "Between Local" and "And Remote" boxes. Simply
click on the "Don't Allow Anything" option and enter the host and network
addresses in the boxes below.
That sounds about the easiest way. Only other thing I can think of is to
use IP Filters, but you are limited, if I remember correctly.
So, just put an '*' in the "Between Local" box, and then list the class c's
in the "And Remote" box. Hope this helps!

Subject: (ASCEND) SAM Firewall Question - Blocking IP Addresses
If we set up a firewall and want to allow access to our web site for
everywhere, but want to exclude web site access from certain class "c"
networks... Can I use the restricted sites to block just these class
"c" addresses from all access to our sites? Is there a better way?
Thanks!
