It is supposed to help with a number of things compared to V1.000:
V.FC support is added.
Compatibility with Lucent K56Flex client modems is improved.
Connection timer fix for Zoom RPI modem.
Class II Fax fix.
Connectivity fix for Sportster modems. (I wonder if this is related to the
V.42bis
problems).
V8bis billing delay fix that should make V.34 modems connect reliably again.
