The best initialization strings I've found are provided by IBM
Advantis. Try them--we point users to them from our home page
(they're updated regularly) and they all seem to work (I've only
found one modem in two years that respond and I don't think they
made 5 of those modems alike).

        ftp://ftp01.ny.us.ibm.net/pub/Advantis/modem.lst

Hint: You can leave the S7=70 out of all the strings. Advantis is
a world wide service--it's needed in some of their locations.

It would be best if was documented somewhere within the Configurator
documents -- I don't think it is. I wouldn't have made an issue of it
except the primary Pipe documentation indicates passwords aren't saved.

Of course (with a cautionary prompt as well.) There should be some space to
allow this in an 'application' that sucks-up more than 5-megs.
