We had this all the time before we turned on LQM. I'm very surprised
no-one else has hit on the "solution;" we used to get complaints from
people ranging from "I can't download my mail," to "my modem goes to sleep
downloading large files."

No vendor seemed interested at the time in taking ownership of it (though
there were some mutterings about magical initialisation strings that would
solve all these problems), and we just puzzled out a solution for
ourselves.

All this started in the 46c releases - the 50a releases are measurably
much improved - full marks for improvement there, Ascend. :-)

I'm surprised you see it in 50ap10 - we're running p13 and have not seen
anything bad this way since the early 5's - but, once I found LQM - I'd be
pretty nervous about turning it off again....
