indeed that's one of the features i've enjoyed in xvnc4viewer.  where might
i look for insight as to why xvnc4viewer was removed from ubuntu focal?

The most light-weight VNC client/viewer I have seen is: SDLvncviewer.

that doesn't appear 2b in the ubuntu focal repo's either...not that i never
use stuff that's not in the repos, just if what's there works well, then
that'll be what i'll go with usually.
