This is often translated as "the more wives, the more witchcraft."

Point 3 is:
"Be careful in your relations with the government; for they draw no man
close to themselves except for their own interests. They appear as friends
when it is to their advantage, but they do not stand by a man in his time
of stress."

If we had stuck with "Ask not what your country can do for
you, but what you can do for your country." we would be
better off.  Instead we are umpteen trillion in debt and want
to spend a lot more?!
