A few years back we had a satellite box that ran Linux. If you plugged in a
USB external hard drive it was instant, free DVR. The box formatted my
external drive ext3. I figured out it was file level encryption, and that
was about as far as I went with it. The key was on the box, which was
fairly locked down.
