Thanks for the replies... On a related question: I am researching an affordable solution for a 72TB NAS to store the snapshots. Following some conversations of others doing the same, I am reading that a failed drive can take a very long time (many days) to rebuild a raid 6. We use quite a few Synology units with far less capacity, and like them. Is there a recommended raid configuration that would have more acceptable rebuild times? Couldn't imagine having to watch a raid rebuild go on for days.
