I think there has clearly been some communication issues, and some violations of 'netiquette', which I think are largely accepted by the other users of this list. I think that users are fine with those sorts of things, and are often willing to overlook mild issues, and assist others in learning what went wrong. Other people make similar violations of netiquette, and typically get a gentle reminder and we move on. The real issue is that despite repeated, and gentle assistance to fix those honest mistakes, there is no real evidence that Paul G is accepting the assistance -- and not only that, he often appears to get angry and go on the offensive -- which is the cause of the issues. I for one think that moderating his account, and assisting him in replying to the right place with relevant responses and getting him straightened out is the correct response. I think of it like mailing-list training wheels, intended to assist in learning, rather than a punishment.
