They have lots of cheap netbooks on eBay. I have a kindle fire. It can do everything you need and you can leave your sansa at home. Just use the fire for listening. Battery life is better than most netbooks. The touch screen keyboard isn't so bad. I will note that my most expensive Android tablet is a Kindle Fire which I got for $140. The touchpad was even cheaper. On Tue, 28 Aug 2012, Mark Mitchell wrote: I have a cellphone. I don't use it for MP3, and I don't have a simple way to transfer files from the phone to the mp3 player. My phone battery is going to be stressed enough as it is, with gps tracking. Plus, trip log updates would be a pain without a keyboard. Tablets don't have keyboards, and are way too expensive. In getting my gear together, there's one piece of equipment that I don't have that would really be useful. Does anyone here have a netbook I could borrow or buy for cheap ($100-ish)? A borrowed machine could be returned after Sept 10. Specs: All I need is something that'll run a full web browser (google maps and http://bikeroutetoaster.com are required), downloading podcasts via sftp/rsync, decent wifi, and good battery life (it'll spend most of it's time off, but longer life means I have to stop to recharge less often). If you've got something that fits the bill, please contact me off-list. -Yaron -- _______________________________________________ TCLUG Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota tclug-list at mn-linux.org http://mailman.mn-linux.org/mailman/listinfo/tclug-list -Yaron -- _______________________________________________ TCLUG Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota tclug-list at mn-linux.org http://mailman.mn-linux.org/mailman/listinfo/tclug-list -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
