Also make sure you enable the sites in Apache. Apache doesn't parse the sites-available directory by default. Running a2ensite conf-file-name will automatically create a symlink for /etc/apache2/sites-available to /etc/apache2/sites-enabled and prompt you to reload Apache. -- Andrew S.
