I've ban a fan of PureFTPd, I've also heard good things about ProFTPd.
 Of course you can alsways just use scp, and don't even bother with
the idiosyncrasies of FTP.  As you may or may not be aware, FTP can
sometimes be a pain to pass through a firewall.
