Probably not a good idea, as people could use non-free software like
OpenSSL and access their email via IMAPS or go to a HTTPS webpage, or
*gasp* stream music in a non-free format like mp3.

The previous paragraph is a bit tongue in cheek, but I've had the
(mis)fortune of actually meeting RMS, and he's so dedicated to using
Free Software that he won't go to SSL enabled websites for example.
While I admire his zealotry, (in the same way I admire chastity I
suppose, a trait best found in others) I find it a bit silly when
licenses stop you from using software. Especially when it's not "Free
enough" by virtue of having less restrictions on it than your definition
of Free Software.

I suppose I could go on about how the FSF claims Free Software puts an
end to reimplimenting things, and then point out that they are
responsible for as many reimplimentations as anyone, but it's far too
early to step on the toes of starry-eyed hero worshippers.
