You can always try 'xset q'. Right at the end should be:

DPMS (Energy Star):
   Standby: 1200    Suspend: 2400    Off: 3600
   DPMS is Enabled
   Monitor is On


But the acpi might override that.

I'd disable DPMS ('xset -dpms') and try disabling acpi, too...
