I'd recommend checking your hard drive with Drive Fitness Test. http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/downloads/dft32_v408_b00.iso Burn it to cd and let an Advanced test run on your drive. I have also seen memory pass tests, but still be bad. It's very rare, but it does happen. This may be something to keep in mind, but with it taking so long to fail I'd go more towards hard drive or power supply.
