With bacula, does it write directly to the disk in it's own
format...or does is just dump stuff to a directory? I'm working mainly
in a windows shop, so our backup system is Linux based.

Currently I just tar up the important parts and dump them on a windows
share via smbclient. The windows backup server doens't have any
problem backing up the tarballs. If bacula can function as a drop in
replacment for that hack...I'm sold. ;)
