I'm willing to share a Debian testing CD or net minimal CD. I have
both around here somewhere.

I've installed Debian over a dial-up without too much problem. I used
to use a fast work connection to download ISOs but then figured out
that Debian moves too fast to burn onto CDs. Especially under the
unstable branch.

My home PC was installed over a dial-up and it took two 10 hour nights
to download the GUI. Luckily, it wasn't my first Debian install.
Currently, I have a cron job to apt-rsync. Which is a batch script
that combines apt and rsync
http://home.tiscali.cz:8080/~cz210552/aptrsync.html This greatly
speeds up the package index download. Apparently the rest of Debian
is compressed so that rsync doesn't improve performance. Then the
cron job will download the updates.

I don't always have my computer on overnight and every 2 weeks it may
take me more than 10 hours to download the updates. MSN cuts me off
after 10 hours :) Under Windows I never hit the maximum.
