So your best bet (if you don't have the recovery partition and can't get CDs from Compaq) would be to just keep trying different CDS - it actually usually works sooner or later. However, supposedly Microsoft has a CD for OEM System Builders (funny, I haven't gotten one..) that will work with any key (for OEM installers, etc) So if anyone can get their hands on THAT CD, for XP Home and/or Pro, it'd be great to have.
