I haven't used udev for this - I just use straight mount.  Have
you treid that?  Does it work? Some thing like :
% mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt

That's where I would start.  I don't have enough experience with
udev to be much help with that.  or does udev change it so your
player doesn't show up as a disk?  Check dmesg when you plug it
in to see.
