Linux Rute ... actually looks like a very good book ... the only drawback is
that it does not necessarily have exercises. So ... for an 8 week
compressed online class in Linux ... I need all the help I can get in
preparing exercises / lectures. So ... I am leaning towards a book prepared
by Thomson learning (www.course.com) entitled "Linux+ Certification." (ISBN
0-619-20563-6). There is an annotated teachers version of this as well. I
will highly recommend the "Linux Rute ... " book as an additional reference
for the students.

This book is geared towards the classroom and the 101/102 exams. The only
drawback is that it is centered on RedHat 9.0 (gui related items) .... and
since it is sort of slipping away ... I am leaning towards using Suse 9
because I have the full download of it on a Linux box ... which I can use
for an "installfest" for the class.

Just my thoughts.

Randy
