Here's what I know: Red Hat (simple install, never compiled a kernal, never 'reliably' even installed a new package) since 8, and up to FC2 (but not successful - dead CD for 2/4 and 3/4 during install :( ) SuSE, as RH, since 8.1 Mandrake, as RH, since 7.2, and up to 10.0 Libranet, 2.8.1 - newly d/l and install attempted Here's what I want: x, configured for the 1280x800 screen (1024x768 makes for WAY weird fonts!), directly from install or VERY shortly after (see above about never reliably blahblahblah) Broadcomm 440 (ok, stop with the moaning already!) working, again directly from install or shortly after... The hardware is pretty cool to play with, but I SO want to be done with Winderz!! Tanx for any and all help!!
